So apparently the owner of a local body shop talked to my mom today wanting to know if I wanted to work for him.

I’m not 100% into bodywork I prefer the mechanical side of it. But I figured I might as well take the offer.

Well my mom thought a blacksmith wanted to hire me when really he said that it was cool that a kid my age was into that stuff.

So I’d take this with a grain of salt. Mom’s hear what they want to hear.

Body work is interesting with older vehicles and unibodies in particular— back when the bodywork was part of the structure/mechanical side. I can’t imagine it’d be as interesting these days... could be wrong though.

Eh, it depends not as much fab is needed anymore but it’s a hell of a lot easier to get the car perfect now.

That’s the truth; and in high demand. I’m a total amateur (though the results were good— you can check my profile for posts) and I’ve got guests of neighbors coming by to ask if I have a shop where I can do body work on their 100K classics.

In the DC area? Let’s open a shop... lol.
